Each level offers a slightly different mechanic, so it's not all "capture the base" or "eliminate the enemy," which keeps the game entertaining. I thoroughly enjoy playing the single player campaign, having never played an RTS multiplayer in my life. However, there are some references aimed at people who've played through the entirety of the first game plus Brood War, so if you don't know the story, several characters and their past relationships can be confusing.I can tell you that it's not terribly challenging on Normal difficulty, but Hard and Expert are a different story. The starter edition also provides spawning—while starter edition-only players can still only play as terrans, they can join battle.net multiplayer games with individuals in the same party.Please note this bot is in testing.
