Big, Ace Frehley), Jorgen Carlson (Govt Mule). Some killer players Doug Bryan on guitars, Andrew Freeman (Last In Line, OffSpring), Matt Starr (Mr. Wanna hear what all this nonsense sounds like: Here's a track I produced and mixed that was released last week. In general for Waves, LA3A, ADT, Doubler, D'Esser. Some Slate plate or Nomad Factory 80s spaces reverb for Snares. Non UAD reverbs I like the IK EMT140 for some specifics, Eventide BlackHole and Valhalla for big spatial sounds. Reverbs, well there are a lot that get rolled in or out. Also use the SSL Native plugins equally their X-EQ2, Channel and Bus Comp (and some new stuff coming out soon that is just great!) For Delays Line 6 Echo Farm, SoundToys Echoboy and PrimalTap. SoundToys DevilLoc Deluxe typically is on the parallel drum buss. Use VTM and VCC quite a bit, as well as various VTM components where I want extra focus or smear. I use the Slate stuff where I don't want to use up UAD power. Typically on most mixes I'll have from UAD the SSL Channel, API 550, SSL Bus Comp, LA-2 and LA-2A, Fairchild 670, Neve 10, EMT140 & Pure Plate, Studer 800, DBX160. I know there's way more but this is off the top of my head. Where I don't want to use up all the DSP on 2 Octos, I'll swap out for something in an equivalent native plugin. I'm in the UAD universe and have every plugin, but really stick to maybe a fraction of them regularly. It really depends on the source material in the end. I also beta test for a few name companies so I have their complete suites. I've got hundreds of plugins from both name makers and not so known. Sometimes I’ll pull something else out if none of my go-to plugins are working on a particular track, but 99% of the time, this is it. Helix Native (I have LOTS of others, but Helix gets me to the sound I need the quickest every time) Waves F6 (Pure magic! If I were on a desert island with my DAW and could only take one plugin, this would be it!) IK Multimedia Classic Compressor (older, but very smooth and transparent with good stereo imaging) Life has been so much simpler, and my mixes sound better, since I have settled on a few favorites and learned to use theme well. I've come to grips with the fact that I will never use most of what I have paid for. If most of you home studio users are like me, you have wayyyyy to many plugins - some free, too many one-offs bought on sale, and big bundles of stuff you will never use in a lifetime.
